Green wellies Green wellies was introduced by the creators of hunter boots in 1955. Despite the difference in names, the green wellies shares similar features with the earlier hunter boots. The rubber boots were renamed to increase their popularity among country folks. It helped to add a rustic charm to the traditional rubber wellies.
